Everton were 2-0 down at home to Wimbledon on the least day of the season and it looked as though relegation was on the cards.Anders Limpar won us a penalty and Graham Stuart pulled one back for Everton.
Barry Horne scored from about 30 yards to pull the Blues level before Graham Stuart completed the great escape and gave Everton a 3-2 victory.
The build up the week before was nerve-wracking to say the least for Evertonians; Wimbledon even had their bus burnt out the day before by Everton fans in an alleged ploy to frighten the Wimbledon players ahead of the game.
