This is our mockup of the new Everton kit for 2013-14. The strip will have a couple of white stripes on each sleeve and will also see the return of a white collar. White socks will also make a welcome return, although many fans do also like the blue socks too so Everton do tend to rotate this.

Everton look set to change their historic club crest in time for the start of the 2013-14 season.
The alleged crest is rumoured to have been trademarked and leaked images of the alleged new crest on Everton related paraphernalia has sparked widespread anger and discussion amongst Evertonians.
Reasons for the possible change could be to do with merchandise similar to when Arsenal changed their crest. At the time the Gunners sought a cleaner modern looking logo that they could trademark and have the rights for, unlike their old crest.
Everton updated their crest just over a decade ago by adding the founding date of the club "1878" and the name of the club "Everton" underneath. Even that wasn't to everybody's taste but it was subtle and most fans were happy.
However now no consultation has been made by Everton to see what fans think about changing the crest and if it is changed for next season then it's obviously too late to do much about it as all the kits and merchandise etc will be in place already.
Above is a picture of the new logo alongside the current logo and a quickly knocked up possible alternative badge that would keep the motto and the laurels.
The dropping of the motto is sad but in the past the club has used it on programmes and such but not on the kit, but to drop it altogether leaves a sour taste and maybe nothing but the best inst good enough any more!

Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe from Club Brugge
Everton could look to resurrect a loan move for the Belgium midfielder although it is reported that Everton's interest has waned.
Anders Lindegaard (Pictured) from Manchester United
The Danish keeper could move to Everton in the summer as competition to Tim Howard who still thinks he has another five years or so left at the top level. Howard has proved a worthy custodian of the number one jersey so far but is starting to look jittery at times.
Joleon Lescott from Manchester City
Lescott has been linked with a loan move to Everton in January and any such move could make it possible for Johnnny Heitinga to move on as well. It seems unlikely that any move for Lescott would be a permanent one with the defender likely to move from City on loan until the end of the season if anything.
Tim Cahill from New York
Moyes has seemingly poured cold water on any possible loan moves for Tim Cahill and Landon Donovan although a move for Cahill would be more likely than the latter.
James McCarthy from Wigan Athletic
A young midfielder with a growing reputation it's only a matter of time before a bigger club takes a gamble on the young Ireland international. Everton have allegedly watched McCarthy before but Wigan are not willing to sell him on the cheap. One for the summer if at all.
PLAYERS LINKED WITH LEAVING
John Heitinga to Ajax, Bayern Munich?
Heitinga is becoming increasingly frustrated over his lack of first team football so far this season with Everton. The defender was last season's player of the season and must wonder what he has to do to get back into the side. Heitinga will have to bide his time but is he willing to wait?
Marouane Fellaini to Arsenal or Manchester City?
Seem unlikely that the Belgium midfielder will leave at this moment in time but will almost certainly depart in the summer if Everton don't qualify for the Champions League.
Magaye Gueye to Rennes
The Frenchman has struggled to break into the Everton team and despite showing glimpses of his talent it seems his future could now be away from Goodison Park.

The Norwegian defender (above) has been linked with a move from Molde and if you believe some reports then the deal is fairly close to being done.
Craig Gordon
Could join on a deal similar to Thomas Hitzlsperger but due to the keeper being plagued by injuries any deal could be more complicated than it first appears despite the goalkeeper being available on a free.

David Moyes could rekindle his interest in the Brugge midfielder in January after a deal to bring him to Everton collapsed after failing to beat the transfer deadline a few months back.

UPDATE: Nikica Jelavic
The Croatian striker has been out of form by the high standards he has set for himself and not looked his normal self during the first part of the season. Rumours of a clash with Kevin Mirallas after the derby game have come out and speculated that Jelavic may want to move. Even last season he seemed a bit miserable at times but I think that's just the way he can come across sometimes so I wouldn't really read too much into it at the moment.
Sylvain Distin
The manager has made clear he is behind giving Distin and Neville new deals and it seems he may get his wish. The French defender is likely to sign a new one year contract in the coming months.
Phil Neville
Neville will probably also sign a new short term extension before he takes his first steps into coaching, whether that will be with Everton remains to be seen. I think both Distin and Neville like Moyes will sign a one year deal at the least before reevaluate their situations the following summer.
John Heitinga
Linked with a possible return to Ajax in 2014 so could see out his current deal and then leave on a free. A lot will depend on how Everton progress in that period.
Jan Mucha
Linked with a move away for a while but Jan is still here. He wants first team football but seems in no rush to get it, however his contract expires in the summer so he could leave then.
Leighton Baines
Linked with a move to Manchester United, however despite the persistent rumours there is no substance to the speculation and the defender seems relatively happy to stay at Everton.
Marouane Fellaini
Everton could find it hard to keep the big Belgium in the summer should we not qualify for the Champions League which in all honesty may be a little out of reach for us this season sadly unless we begin to perform more consistenly and steer clear of injuries! So there are a lot of if's and buts with regard to Fellaini's future and hopefully he will remain a blue! Chelsea and Manchester City are rumoured to be interested but personally if he did leave I hope he will move abroad to Real Madrid or someone.

The new Everton home kit has officially been launched today. The kit which is the first from new manufacturers Nike features a white v neck collar and thick white cuffs on the sleeves.
On the whole I think most Blues will be happy with the new kit although many may take a little while to get used to the thicker sleeves.
My personal preference for the socks would be white with a blue trim, however the kit design has been kept pretty simple and wont upset too many Evertonians.

Everton will start the 2012-13 Premier League campaign with a home game against Manchester United.
The first derby game against Liverpool is at Goodison Park on the 27th of October 2012 with the reverse fixture being played at Anfield on the 4th of May 2013.
We will be at home on Boxing Day with Wigan Athletic the visitors and then on the 29th of December we will play Chelsea at home.
On New Years Day we travel up to the North-East to face Newcastle United.
The Blues finish their capaign away to Chelsea on the 19th of May 2013.

Everton legend Gordon West had died at the age of 69. He passed away peacefully on Sunday following a long battle with illness.
The former Blues goalkeeper was regarded as one of the Everton greats and was possibly with the exception of Neville Southall the best goalkeeper our club has ever had.
Many fans Dads and Granddad’s often reminisce about Westy’s performances and antics in the Everton Goal. There is a pride in the voice of Evertonians when they talk about him.
He played over 400 times for Everton and his Goodison Honours included winning the league twice as well as an FA Cup win in 1966.
In his later life he was a big supporter of The Everton layers Foundation and could often be seen at one of their events talking Everton.
“I sit in this room and I know I am surrounded by Evertonians because you are all beautiful people. Kopites are all ugly bastards aren't they.“

There is a horrible transfer rumour going around that Manchester United have stepped up their attempts to sign our
England full back Leighton Baines. In our current precarious financial position a bid of around fifteen million pounds could be enough to tempt us into selling.
However it would be strange and unsettling to start any sort of bidding war now with Euro 2012 around the corner.
Everton have been linked with the less than flattering Kieran Richardson of Sunderland as a potential replacement if Baines left.
With Everton possibly needing to sell to keep the banks happy, then a big money sale could well be on the cards this summer with part of any transfer fee received going towards player acquisitions.

We have received a picture of what appears to be the new Everton Nike Home kit for season 2012-13.
The new kit is expected to be revealed in the next month or so and we have no reason to believe that this will be our new kit.
Hanging up in the background appears to be the new Nike Man Utd shirt which makes it more believable that this will be our new kit or a cheap mock up at least of the finished product!

Everton could make a move for Fulham's American midfielder Clint Dempsey during the summer.
It is understood Everton will face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Liverpool for the player’s signature.
Fulham could reluctantly accept an offer of around £5,000,000 or less for the midfielder, less than half the amount that Fulham supposedly value him at.
Dempsey has one year left on his contract meaning Fulham could sell or risk loosing the player for nothing next year.
Everton’s American connection could help persuade Dempsey to join us but if it gets into a bidding war then our interest could soon wane.

It is rumoured that Everton will wear a black away kit for next season and will also sport a white third kit. Nobody knows what colour they will be though if the truth be known!
The mocked up home kit we did on this blog is being bandied about as being a leaked picture of the home kit, which although not impossible would be rather lazy of Nike as it’s just an altered image of Brazil’s new away kit!

Another transfer rumour that probably wont happen but we’ve heard Everton could be interested in signing goalkeeper Marián Kello who is currently a free agent after terminating his contract early with Scottish club Hearts.
The player has represented Slokaia as a backup to our own Jan Mucha and is also attracting interest from Aston Villa.
He would almost certainly be signed as a backup to Tim Howard.

Gylfi Sigurðsson is apparently being monitored by Everton ahead of a potential bid in the summer.
Everton’s own Jimmy Lumsden has apparently been to see the Icelandic midfielder in action and it also believed one or two other Premier League clubs are interested.
An initial fee of just over £5,000,000 would possibly be enough the land the TSG 1899 Hoffenheim midfielder currently on loan to Swansea City.

I said we were embarrassed after last weeks semi final, embarrassed perhaps wasn’t the right word to use but our pride definitely took a kicking. However after today’s 4-4 draw against Manchester United, Everton certainly gave the fans a little of that pride back.
A shock early goal by Jelavic gave us some early optimism but it was always going to be a daunting task to hold onto that for the rest of the game.
Then our old friend Rooney popped up with an equaliser taking the teams into the break level.
Goals from Nani and Danny Welbeck for Manchester United left it looking as though they had their tails up and it seemed more a question of how many goals United would now score.
Fellaini pulled one back for the Blues but this was quickly curtailed by Rooney who put Manchester United 4-2 in front.
After a period of United pressure they now seemed like they had taken their foot off the gas Everton had a surprise counter and Jelavic pulled another goal back for Everton making it 4-3 to United with seven minutes to go.
Then in the last five minutes some more good play by Everton who twisted and turned the ball into the area for Pienaar to slot home leaving United’s title hopes in the balance.
The referee then added a mysterious five minutes on at the end which was the bit were United were meant to score a late winner and leave Everton wondering where all that added time was from! But there was to be no fairytale ending and Everton came away with the share of the points and kept us with a chance of finishing above our loveable neighbours.
A special mention must be given to James McFadden who came on and worked his socks off, he showed some good movement at times and has given Moyesie something to think about.

As has long been suspected Everton will be having their kits made by American company Nike from the start of season 2012/13.
Nike’s arrival will apparently not generate a great cash windfall for the club with it more than likely tying in with the agreement Everton already have with Kitbag.
Everton have recently had their kit made by Le Coq Sportif as part of the Kitbag deal and before that had spells with both Umbro and Puma.
Hopefully given the nature of the deal we will be spared the trademark tick being painted onto the seats of the Park End stand at Goodison.

Everton have completed the signing of Darron Gibson from Manchester United on a four-and-a-half year deal for an undisclosed fee.
Gibson, 24, has moved to Everton to become the club's second signing of the January transfer window.
The Republic of Ireland midfielder said: "I am looking foward to the challenge and it was the right time for me to move on from Manchester United.
"Hopefully I can improve Everton, it's a great club with great fans."
Gibson has a reputation for scoring spectacular goals, netting 10 times in 60 appearances for United.
"I think I'm a goalscoring midfielder and hopefully I can get a few goals," he added.
"I've scored a few long-range shots - I don't think I've scored one inside the box to be honest - and if I score goals it's a bonus for me.
"I'm just looking to do as well as I can for the team."
Gibson, a product of the United youth team, was born in Northern Ireland but opted to play for the Republic and has won 17 caps.
A proposed summer move to Sunderland broke down over personal terms, and he was down the pecking order at United.
He is the Toffees' second signing this month after they brought Landon Donovan back to Goodison Park from LA Galaxy for a short loan spell.
