There is a horrible transfer rumour going around that Manchester United have stepped up their attempts to sign our England full back Leighton Baines. In our current precarious financial position a bid of around fifteen million pounds could be enough to tempt us into selling.
However it would be strange and unsettling to start any sort of bidding war now with Euro 2012 around the corner.
Everton have been linked with the less than flattering Kieran Richardson of Sunderland as a potential replacement if Baines left.
With Everton possibly needing to sell to keep the banks happy, then a big money sale could well be on the cards this summer with part of any transfer fee received going towards player acquisitions.
