Lukaku Scores As Blues Fight Back At Barnsley!

Romelu Lukaku scores for Everton in front of the travelling Evertonians as the Blues fought back to beat Barnsley 5-3 after extra time.

The game was overshadowed by Everton defender John Stones who had earlier that week handed in a transfer request amid speculation of a possible move to Chelsea who had courted the youngster all summer.

It was also a return to Barnsley's Oakwell stadium for Stones who was a product of the Yorkshire Clubs youth system.

Distin's Farewell!

Sylvain Distin is interviewed after the final game of the 2014-15 season against Tottenham Hotspur, his final appearance for Everton.Distin had been used sparingly during the last year or so of his contract with the French defender becoming increasingly frustrated and desperate for first team football despite nearing the end of his playing career.

There was an outcry by many Evertonians to give Distin the send off he deserved for years of outstanding performance and good service to the club.

This was how the original 1997/98 Everton home kit was meant to look with the Danka logo in place.

With Danka deciding not to renew their sponsorship with Everton, the release of this shirt was delayed due to Everton needing to find a new sponsor and then getting the new sponsors name put on all the new shirts.



The new sponsor was eventually confirmed when then mobile phone company One 2 One took over from Danka in what was one of Everton's more controversial strips with the introduction of various coloured horizontal lines emblazoned across the front of the jersey.

There was quite an excitement when he first signed from Aston Villa, however that soon died down and Ginola didn’t figure much for Everton that season.
