This was how the original 1997/98 Everton home kit was meant to look with the Danka logo in place.With Danka deciding not to renew their sponsorship with Everton, the release of this shirt was delayed due to Everton needing to find a new sponsor and then getting the new sponsors name put on all the new shirts.
The new sponsor was eventually confirmed when then mobile phone company One 2 One took over from Danka in what was one of Everton's more controversial strips with the introduction of various coloured horizontal lines emblazoned across the front of the jersey.
