Naismith started out at Rangers a a youngster but it was with Kilmarnock that he first signed professionally with in 2002.
He went on to score 29 times in 102 games for the Ayrshire side before the Old Firm came knocking.
Rangers reportedly had an offer rejected by Kilmarnock and at one point it looked like Celtic may have come in and beat their Glasgow rivals to the players signature.
Rangers eventually did manage to sign him though and he went on to score 28 goals in 98 appearances for the Scottish giants.
During his time at Rangers he linked up terrifically well with Nikica Jelavic and hopefully their partnership will thrive again now the Scot is at Goodison.
With Rangers going belly up and a good few of them jumping ship Everton moved to secure Naismith on a free transfer in July 2012.
